There is stone in my stare…catch it unaware… Like forest picnic bears…you’re in for a surprise. It's water running down a hill and under bridges, It's the wind under your coat and across your face. I am silent with involvement. I am not carried away with myself. I am aware of every inch of flesh, every air pocket.

In the quiet of the forest sits a small silver snail. He blinks to himself as he watches the sun rising silently. Fluorescent colors stain the fading night sky with bright blush while our small snail reflects on his upcoming day. The early morning air is clean and crisp, giving him energy he will need for his measured travels. Caught up in this morning salute to the sun our small friend knew not what hit him until he hit the bottom of her giant stomach.

This is Agnes Andromeda. She is a not so ordinary 22 year old waitress in a pub. Waiting to be discovered in some way. Agnes likes how water travels down windows and how driving in a car turns into a moving picture. She dislikes wearing socks and wishes her neighbors were beautiful mysterious people.

On the day it happened, it was a cool fall afternoon. A day like any other and like any other person, Agnes was at the bus station on her way to work…...........

I was at the bus station when an older aged man, wearing an over-sized coat came
over to me. He had a fur trimmed hood that cloaked his eyes. Just his toothless jaw jutted out from underneath the shadow. His skin was weathered and sunken. It didn’t look like he had shaved that morning or the morning before, perhaps not even the morning before that. He did not say a word but stood close, offending me with his smells; staring down past his over-sized coat to his left galosh, so then, did I.
On the end of his dirt splashed boot was a miniature pixie woman, stark naked from tiny head to tiny toe. Her little body was dark with dirt and somewhat covered by her long locks of flower tangled hair. She stood no taller than my finger and gazed up at me with a twisted grin.
I stared down at the nymph, not ready to accept what I was seeing. She winked at me once and spoke;
“Excuse me dear, could you please not stare.”
I blinked fast and watched incredulously as she jumped down from her mode of transport and started running with reckless abandon all around the station. I looked to the other bus stop bystanders for confirmation of this strange little vision but no eyes met mine. How was I the only one seeing this? I stared back and forth from the flash of petite flesh to the bored and tired faces of the public. The song playing from the station’s music speakers suddenly sped up and seemed to be in pace with this strange little woman. The crowd was ecstatically indifferent and continued on with their disinterest.
The old man whose boot she had sprouted from turned and clomped away. He ignored my pleas for him to explain. I squeezed my eyes shut to end the scene but when opened back up, the little woman was standing there waiting, staring up at me.
“What do you want?” I managed to whisper, now just concerned with my purpose for seeing her. The little woman gave a forced smile and leapt into my shoulder bag with suprising speed. She emerged swathed in one of my cashmere gloves like a miniature Lady Godiva. I held back my confusion and objection as it was at least covering up the little nudist.
“I am in dire need of your selfless assistance,” stated the little woman directly.
“There is a giant terrorizing my forest, eating up all of my friends. Everyone fears for their lives. You who are named for your fate must fulfill your destiny and help us destroy her matter of factly.”
“What the hell are you talking about?!” I cried.
“No time to explain. There are forces behind the corruption and they are after us right now.”
Unexpectedly, a big gust of wind lifted me up from underneath myself. My body became weightless as I spun around suspended in air, in the middle of the station. I flailed and twisted my body around to see her grab from a bag I hadn't even noticed. A handful of blue sand hit my face, blinding me.
Suddenly I was underwater and I began thrashing for the surface in a cold panic. Out of the rapids I dragged myself onto the safety of shore. But no, shore was not shore; it was actually the body of a giant woman. I cough and crawl out of the river and onto her giant arm. I pause, blood pounding in my head, to see if she noticed. Terrified but compelled, I continue the crawl towards her large golden head. Finally I reach the summit of her enormous limb and stand unsteadily upon her left shoulder. The giant woman stirs and glances down at me with an afterthought of consideration. Opening her large luscious mouth, the last thing I saw was the back of her cavernous throat.

Slowly but surely, the forest began its gentle recovery. A rein of terror finally brought to an end. Families continued on with everyday living, heavy hearts filling the trees and singing in the breeze. As for our unsuspecting heroine, who had been the perfect poison, she was reincarnated into her favorite song.
